2011-2012 Retreats:
Sesshin, literally "touching the heart-mind"
These multi-day retreats are characterized by deep concentration and silence. The daily schedule includes zazen, liturgy, formal meals in the Zendo (oryoki), caretaking (samu), dharma talks, and private face to face guidance with the teachers. Rohatsu Sesshin Dec 29th 2011 - Jan 1st 2012 particularly commemorates the Buddha's achievement of Enlightenment. Great Precepts Sesshin July 17-22 is our longest annual retreat and concludes with the recieving of the Buddhist Precepts by approved initiates.

Zazenkai, literally meaning "to come together for meditation.”
These day long intensives follow a flexable schedule and include a Dharma talk, interview with the teachers and lots of seated meditation time.
Dates: Dec 4th.

Jukai
Jukai, refers to the public ceremony wherein a lay student of Zen Buddhism receives the Buddhist precepts in a rite in which they publicly take refuge in the Buddha, the dharma and the sangha, and vow to uphold the three pure precepts as well as the sixteen grave precepts.

Part 3 Fri Jun 29th 7pm to Sun Jul 1 noon.
Part 4 Tue Jul 17 7pm to Sun Jul 22 noon.
